State Conference

"Ohana Means Family"

Make the Most of Your Conference

The old adage comes to life again at the 2017 Ohio Educational Theatre Association State Thespian Conference on March 24-26, 2017. More than 1,500 theatre students and teachers will gather at Dublin Scioto High School to see some of the best high school productions in the state, learn more about their craft through performance and technical workshops, and compete for scholarships and awards.  It’s a dream come true for drama enthusiasts...a dream you and your students can share.

State Conference is a great time for drama enthusiasts to meet other people who share their love of  theatre, to exchange ideas with people from other areas and to learn more about the arts. In order to achieve these goals, OhEdTA views shows throughout the state and selects the best of the best to perform at Conference.  OhEdTA also brings a variety of professionals representing all aspects of theatre, to share their knowledge with and inspire workshop participants.

To make the most of your Conference experience, plan to attend a variety of shows and workshops and network with the people you meet.  In addition, Please take advantage of the many opportunities available to troupes (seeing the All-Ohio production, bringing a Marathon cutting or one-act to share, or creating a display) and to individuals (Individual Events and Bob Fose Memorial Scholarship competition).

Please see the information below for specifics relating to this year's conference.
